Monday 7-16

Okay, first post. Oh the excitement. I'll just make this a quick recap of the weekend to see if I can even make this thing work.

So. . . I arrived in sunny (WAY sunny; triple digits hot ) Phoenix AZ Friday afternoon. Was picked up by the lovely (if not a bit late) DeeAnn. We did something that afternoon. Not sure exactly what it was, but I'm certain it was exciting. Oh. Yes. . . we kicked back for a bit and then had dinner with the Fishes. Good time, nice people. Good food too - at the Rockerij. It had been burned, but we ate in what (I think) was the bar and it was nice. Perhaps a drink too much (martini, red wine, white wine), but it was a lot of fun. Much snuggling and sweet talk with my honey ;)

Saturday AM was DCB Adventures' misnamed Splash and Dash (it's a Dash then Splash.) Fun because the Dave is a nice guy, not so fun because it involves a 5K (which hurts) and swimming (which no one in their right mind likes.) On the upside both DeeAnn and I placed 2nd overall (granted my 2nd overall is real whereas hers was really something like 11th overall and 2nd female, but we like to let her keep her illusions .) After the race we headed back home, and did something else. Not sure what. Probably watched the tour. And took the doggies for a walk I think. But not in that order. Oh yes, then most of the rest of the day was spent figuring out details of "the move." A bit stressful, but we at least touched on everything that needs to be done. So it was time well spent. And then there was fancy Jack Daniel's steak with lil' red potatoes for dinner ;)

Sunday AM started with a run. The highlight was (aside from running with DeeAnn, of course) running through the wash somewhere. DeeAnn's instruction: "run along the edge, it is packed harder and easier to run on", and then subsequently "if you're going to run along the edge, make sure you watch for snakes." I ran right in the middle. Also found 7 or 8 golf balls. All Titleist except one Top Flite. Stupid Titleist. After the run was a lake swim in some rattlesnake cove place. Decent time - as much so as possible, anyway.

The weekend wrapped up with Church Sunday night, and then ice cream - yay ;) On the downside, I had to leave Monday AM, but despite not wanting to go, it was nice to have spent the previous 2 1/2 days with DeeAnn. And having worked out all the not so fun details.

Here's to looking forward to the future, but living the present to it's fullest!

Live Life.
